Core Programmes

NPG carry out different programmes on regular basis residing within its thematic areas.

Network and policy advocacy

NPG is being actively involved in policy influence in its working themes through efficient mobilization of its members and network. NPG has been organizing and facilitating the policy dialogues with the MoALD, DoA, NARC, Private Sector and Local Government authorities for enabling policy environment and implement related plans and programs that promotes organic/ecological agriculture and marketing systems, maintained agro-biodiversity and improvement of food security so as ultimately contributes for sustainable system and food sovereignty.

General Assembly and Convergence

NPG is creating a common forum to all the concerned stakeholders to interact and share their knowledge, skill, experiences on emerging as well as opportunistic issues on family farming, sustainable agriculture, food security and climate change. It has being organizing such an issue based discussion programmes at least once in a year.

With the theme, ‘Changing trends in Nepalese farming due to trade and global warming including many other issues’  NPG organizes convergence and technical workshops inviting multi stakeholders at different levels.

Training and Education

Permaculture and Sustainable Agriculture Courses:
NPG conducts Permaculture Design Course at least once in a year but also response the calls. Main purpose of this course is to develop the efficient human resources to expand the theme nationwide. Besides, the organization also carries out the following courses regularly upon the needs and the demand from different interested individuals and like-minded organizations:

Promotion

Upon the need and demand from the community and the like-minded organizations, NPG is being involved in promotional activities in relation to its working themes, such as, Permaculture model village and farm design, community and organizational need assessment etc.

Information and documentation

Proceedings, Newsletter, Farmers Hand Book and Research reports are the regular publications of NPG. Efforts have been taken to identify adopted technologies as well as pilot initiatives on organic agriculture for learning and doing. Building up database is in progress to facilitate the information support system. Information is being disseminated through radio program, media and various publications.
